A Miscouche, P.E.I., man, caught with marijuana and hash oil while serving time in the Prince County Jail, is having his jail term extended.

Brian Wendall Bridges, 49, pleaded guilty to the possession charge in Summerside provincial court and was given another 20 days. Bridges was serving a weekend sentence for previous drug convictions.

Bridges was caught when a correctional officer noticed smoke coming from a washroom and saw Bridges trying to hide something in his pants. A search revealed a plastic bag with a gram of marijuana, a bag with tobacco and a vial with about a gram of hash oil.

On top of the additional jail time, Bridges must pay $100 in victim surcharges.
