A Charlottetown doctor has been given a fine and a written reprimand by the P.E.I. College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Doug Tweel has also been told to apologize to the family of a patient.
The college found Tweel failed to attend in a timely way to the needs of an in-patient and her family at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at the request of nursing staff.
The college also said when Tweel did attend, he used profanity and inappropriate language to communicate with the patient's family.
Tweel has been ordered to write a letter of apology to the patient's family. He's also been fined $1,500.
