Charlottetown police are investigating a smash and grab overnight at the liquor store on Queen Street.

Const. Gary Clow told CBC News that before 2 a.m. Tuesday, someone smashed out the front door of the downtown liquor store. When police arrived, a small quantity of liquor had been taken.

Police tried to catch the culprit with the help of the police dog, but didn't have any luck.

Clow said videotapes are being reviewed to help with the investigation.
