The P.E.I. rink that captured the world junior curling championship in 2001 has reunited, skip Suzanne Gaudet announced on the weekend.

Gaudet, 24, said the decision to regroup was made a couple of months ago.

It was announced the same day the curlers were told they would be inducted into the P.E.I. Sports Hall of Fame in September.

Gaudet will be joined in the reunion by original teammates Stefanie Richard and Robyn MacPhee.

In the five years since the rink broke up, the fourth former member stopped curling altogether. Kelly Higgins's place will be taken on the new squad by Carol Webb, who was the alternate on the original team.

The curlers will start practising in October out of the Silver Fox in Summerside.
