Liberal Leader Robert Ghiz is promising to limit class sizes for Grades 1 and 3, allowing no more than 22 students in each classroom.

The Grits outlined their education policy on Monday morning. The class size announcement adds to other education promises announced earlier.

The Liberals are promising to spend $2 million over four years on kindergarten classes.

Ghiz also says there would be tax breaks for university and college graduates who choose to continue living on Prince Edward Island. He says the provincial student loan program would be changed to allow more students to qualify for funding.

The Liberalshave also promised bring teacher salaries up to the regional average, and add breakfast programs to all Island schools.
