Margaret Duffy-Murphy say both the Liberals and Conservatives are making promises they can't keep.

The head of the P.E.I. Nurses Union says politicians can promise to hire new nurses if elected, but they likely won't be able to fill the jobs.

  • In depth: Prince Edward Island Votes 2003
  • The Tories are pledging to hire 80 new nurses if elected to a third term. Liberal leader Robert Ghiz topped that with a promise to create 200 nursing positions.

Duffy-Murphy says there are still 30 nursing positions that have yet to be filled in the province. Adding it is easy to create positions, but much more difficult to convince nurses to move to the Island.
