  • Before becoming provincial leader, Ghiz worked as a special assistant to the Prime Minister for Atlantic issues. The National Post has raised questions about whether Robert Ghiz was collecting a salary from the Prime Minister's office and campaigning for the Liberal leadership at the same time.

Ghiz continued to receive a salary for three months after moving to Prince Edward Island.

"Any of the other regional desks, who work in the Prime Minister's Office, all live in their regions," says Ghiz.

The National Post story also questioned the size of Ghiz's expense claims. Ghiz says his claims weren't any higher than other special assistants.
