A P.E.I. man has been charged in connection with a snowmobile crash Sunday in Huntley, north of Alberton.

Two men, including the driver, were sent to hospital.

RCMP said the men were driving on the Old Cheese Factory road at around 10 p.m. when they encountered white-out conditions. Police said the driver failed to make a sharp turn in the road and the snowmobile went into the bushes.

Both men were injured and taken to the Prince County Hospital. The passenger required stitches and the driver hurt his back.

The driver was convicted of impaired driving in 2010, said RCMP, and at that time banned from driving any sort of vehicle for three years.

He has been charged with driving while prohibited.
