RCMP in eastern P.E.I. are investigating an incident on Saturday where a shot was fired following what they were told was a domestic dispute.

Police said just before noon they were called to a home in St. Charles, west of Souris, after a complaint that a shotgun had been discharged after a domestic dispute. Threats were made, RCMP said, but the gun was shot outside the home and wasn't aimed at anyone.

No one was injured.

The man with the gun left the area. RCMP arrested a man on Sunday at the home where the incident occurred. The gun wasn't recovered. The man was later released with a number of conditions.

The matter is still under investigation and RCMP anticipate charges will be laid.
