Province adding paid holiday for Islanders
Remembrance Day will soon be a paid holiday under the province's Employment Standards Act. It is one of a number of changes being made to the legislation.
Employers will need to give employees with more than ten years service six weeks notice of termination once the bill passes. Employees with more than 15 years service will be entitled to eight weeks notice.
There are also changes to the legal rights of employees in regard to bereavement leave.
