Police cadets hit the streets for Alzheimer's Society
Cadets from the Atlantic Police Academy are going door to door, canvassing for the Alzheimer’s Society of P.E.I.
This is the third year cadets have helped fundraise in the Summerside area. It’s a fundraiser that shows the close link between the two organizations.
"We’re always built into the curriculum of their program," said Corrine Hendricken Eldershaw, the CEO of the Alzheimer’s Society. "Speaking to them about searches and emergencies when an individual with dementia has wandered and we need assistance from our cadets with the search and rescue teams in terms of getting a loved one home safely."
Last year, the cadets collected about $7,500 for the group.
