Phony fundraiser hits Stratford neighbourhood
Alzheimer Society officials say someone going door-to-door in Stratford
The Alzheimer Society of P.E.I. is warning people that someone is going door-to-door in the Stratford area claiming to be collecting on its behalf.
Society officials said they do not have representatives collecting at this time.
"Just tell them that you've given at the office," said fund development coordinator Margie Villard.
"Call us and let us know someone was out."
Villard said people representing the society always have information with them to prove they are collecting for the organization.
"All of our representatives have official receipt books from the society and they will have pamphlets," said Villard.
"You should be able to ask them any question and they should be able to know the information about the society."
Villard noted the society's door-to-door campaign is held every year in October.
