Gas prices will hold steady at a five-year low of between 83.9 and 85 cents per litre after an overnight scheduled pricing decision by the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission.

An unscheduled price adjustment by IRAC on Feb. 11 saw gas prices plunge 5.5 cents per litre — the lowest since 2009.

IRAC cited a decrease in the wholesale price of gas for the drop.

Diesel, propane, furnace and stove oil prices stayed the same.

The next scheduled price adjustment is March 1.
