Pedestrians struck near race track
Two men were sent to hospital on Saturday evening after being hit by a car as they were walking across Exhibition Drive in Charlottetown, near the Red Shores race track.
Deputy police chief Richard Collins said the two men, one from Charlottetown and one from Summerside, were in their 60s.
"Both were transported to hospital, treated for minor injuries," said Collins.
"The pedestrians were not in the crosswalk at the time. They were crossing at another location other than where a crosswalk is situated."
The car was driven by a 68-year-old man from Charlottetown. The accident is still under investigation.
Charlottetown police are also investigating a motorcycle crash that sent a 20-year-old man to hospital Sunday evening.
Police said the crash happened at around 7:15 on the Lower Malpeque Road when the vehicle left the road. The driver, who was travelling alone, suffered fractures and abrasions.
