Murray River's Brandon Gormley made his NHL debut Monday night for the Phoenix Coyotes.
He played just over 13 minutes in a win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Gormley was called up from his American Hockey League team on Friday.
The game was a bit faster than he's used to, he said.
"Obviously the speed of the game, it's a whole other level," said Gormley.
"Other than that, it's the same game, guys are very skilled they make little plays in tight and you got to be watching all the time, especially as a D-man. [Steven] Stamkos and those guys get going and if you don’t see them early you're not going to catch them."
Phoenix won 4-3 in a shootout.
Gormley's coach Dave Tippett was impressed by Gormley's game, saying it was strong and methodical.
