Both of P.E.I.'s Paralympians will compete early on Saturday as the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games get underway.

Biathlete Mark Arendz will skip Friday night's opening ceremony to be ready for his event. The Springton native will be participating in the 7.5-kilometre biathlon, which starts at 4 a.m. P.E.I. time.

Summerside's Billy Bridges will also see his first action with the Canadian sledge hockey team. Team Canada plays Sweden at 5 a.m. P.E.I. time.
