The Canada Games end Saturday, and P.E.I.'s chef de mission says it's been a good experience for the province's 200-plus young athletes.

As of mid-afternoon Friday, the Island's medal count at the Games in Sherbrooke, Que. stood at two silvers. Chef de Mission Francois Caron said the athletes are coming home with many good memories.

"It's a great chance for them to go out and meet people from other parts of the country and other provinces and territories," said Caron.

"There's the whole cultural side of this thing as well. There's little activities going on. So the other night there was little mini go-cart races, and pedal go-carts. So you'd see our athletes out there racing against other provinces."

The closing ceremony are Saturday night.
