An autopsy has determined no foul play is suspected in connection with human remains found in Stratford. (CBC)

RCMP say no foul play is suspected in connection with the human remains found in Stratford Thursday afternoon.

An autopsy was performed Friday in Halifax on the body found Thursday afternoon in a wooded area, off the Keppoch Road.

However police said the exact cause of death has not yet been determined and further testing is ongoing.

Police said the human remains are that of an adult male. 

The Prince Edward Island Coroner's office and RCMP continue their investigation into the identification of the man.

RCMP are no longer securing the site where the remains were found.
