The roof of the new Spring Park School in Charlottetown is leaking in several places.

Officials with the English Language School Board would not specify what area of the school is affected but said the problem is "nothing of significance." A spokesperson said water can be seen coming through the ceiling tiles.

The brand new school opened for students a little less than a year ago.

Maintenance staff and staff with the provincial Infrastructure Renewal Department are looking into the problem.

A spokesperson with the province said it is unusual to see a new building leak, but a construction warranty means the company that built the roof will be held responsible.
