Members of Music P.E.I. will stage a miniature busker festival in Charlottetown on Aug. 13 to raise funds for their organization and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of P.E.I.
The musicians will volunteer their time and talent for the Sing with Heart event. Their busking proceeds and a portion of CD sales that day will be shared between the two organizations.
'There will be musicians from all different genres.'— Suzanne MacDonald
"We are going to have musicians at different locations throughout the city," says Suzanne MacDonald, events co-ordinator for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of P.E.I.
"Some indoors, some outdoors. They will be performing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and there will be a different musician for each hour, and there will be musicians from all different genres."
Representatives from the two organizations will be on hand with information about the fundraiser. Proceeds will be shared equally.
MacDonald noted there should be lots of people in Charlottetown on Aug. 13 because a large cruise ship will be in port, and Old Home Week will be underway. Both organizations hope this will become an annual event.
