Montague funeral home offering live-streaming
Owner says people working out west can't always make it back home
A Montague funeral home says it's one of the first in the region to offer live-streamed funerals.
Ferguson-Logan Funeral Home owner Barry Logan says they started offering the additional service three months ago. He says since then, more than half of the funeral contracts have paid $20 for live-streaming.
"There's a lot of people now that moved out west and to fly home today in an emergency you're looking anywhere from $1,200 and up. And a lot of people just can't afford that, so as long as they have access to the internet and bring up our website, they can sit there and watch the funeral," he said.
Logan says the videos remain on the funeral home's website for a year.
He doesn't know of any other funeral homes on the Island offering the service.
