P.E.I. Paralympian Mark Arendz did not compete in the one-kilometre cross-country skiing sprint in Sochi Wednesday.

Arendz has already picked up two medals, a silver and a bronze, in biathlon, which is his main sport. The sprint was scheduled for early this morning, and Team Canada decided it would be better for him to take a day of rest instead.

Arendz's next scheduled event is the 15-kilometre biathlon early Friday morning.
