Man pleads guilty in baby assault
A Kensington, P.E.I., man pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated assault against an infant.
David Evans Kelly, 25, of Kensington appeared in court in Summerside to make the plea.
The assault occurred in January when the baby boy was taken to the Prince County Hospital in Summerside with serious injuries. He was later airlifted to the IWK Health Centre in Halifax.
The court has not heard what happened to the baby and Kelly's role in the incident.
The Crown and defence lawyers are working on an agreed statements of facts to be read into the court record on Jan. 19.
