A man from Green Meadows, P.E.I. is asking the public to help him find those responsible for burning down his barn Halloween night.

Hubert Pierlot's barn contained 1,500 bales of hay and farm equipment.

'I'm very anxious to see these people apprehended,'—Hubert Pierlot

Pierlot said he usually keeps an eye on his barn on Halloween because of mischief. But this year, he had to be at his home one kilometre away.

Pierlot said by the time he realized something was wrong, it was too late.

"When I got there, the barn was burning completely," he said. "There was no reason for the barn to go on fire, so some people decided it was time for this barn to burn."

A dozen firefighters worked for a couple of hours to contain the flames but the building was destroyed. The fire marshall's office has ruled the fire suspicious.

RCMP said they have not found any evidence or suspects. Their investigation is closed.

But Pierot has not given up, he's asking those responsible to come forward.

"I'm very anxious to see these people apprehended, and that they be charged and sentenced according to the justice system of this province," he said.

Pierlot does not have insurance.
