He faces several charges in connection with a break and enter at Greco Pizza on the weekend. Police say he was also wanted on an outstanding warrant in connection with the drug investigation known as Operation Clean Sweep.
Police received a call at 3:23 a.m. that a break and enter was in progress at the Greco restaurant on Brackley Point Road. The caller described the suspect and the van he was driving.
Police located the van on University Avenue, and after a short pursuit were able to stop the vehicle in the Birch Hill Drive area. The man then jumped out of the van and ran away. Police chased him through the backyards of the neighbourhood.
He was eventually caught and arrested.
The Charlottetown area man remains in jail and has been charged with break and enter, flight from an officer, wearing a disguise to commit a crime, and taking a motor vehicle without consent.
He will appear in provincial court on March 27.
