The federal Liberal caucus has chosen Prince Edward Island for its annual strategy session.

The 34 MPs and 37 senators will meet at the Rodd Brudenell Resort in eastern P.E.I. in late August. It's a chance for them to reconnect after their summer break, and come up with a plan of attack for the upcoming fall parliamentary session.

Caucus chair Francis Scarpaleggia said the party tries to move its meetings around the country, and no one could remember the last time the caucus met on P.E.I.

Scarpaleggia said the schedule is still in the planning stages, but he hopes there's time for an event that would allow Islanders to meet Justin Trudeau and the other Liberals.
