Concern continues to grow over the whereabouts of a 60-year-old man from Charlottetown who was reported missing Dec. 23.

The disappearance has left those who know John Ward with a lot of questions.

His friend Mickey Werner posted a call for help on Kijiji on Boxing Day. The ad, which includes Ward's picture, has been viewed more than 2,400 times.

"Unfortunately with that many hits, no news," said Werner.

Charlottetown Police haven't heard anything either. Deputy chief Gary McGuigan said in December officers canvassed Ward's neighbourhood looking for tips. Friends say he was living on Fitzroy Street, but police don't know exactly where Ward was last seen.

"We didn't know where to look or where to send ground search and rescue for Mr. Ward," said McGuigan.

"He went missing in the middle of December and we had no starting point."

The police K-9 unit did a shoreline search near the Co-op baseball diamond, a place where police were told Ward sometimes went.

That search turned up nothing, as did checks of Ward's apartment and bank account. Werner has known Ward for 40 years and says the disappearance doesn't make sense.

"I pray to God that he's OK, that's all I can say," he said.

Police said they'll continue to follow up on any tips from the public. They don't believe any foul play is involved.
