P.E.I. Premier Robert Ghiz will lead a trade mission to Japan and Taiwan next week.
Ghiz will be joined by Island business people. The province is trying to promote tourism and to sell its education curriculum, soy beans, and other agricultural products to the Asian market.
"They've got large populations that are demanding products," said Ghiz
"Whether or not it's the Japanese market or in Taiwan, we've seen a lot of growth over the last number of years, a huge increase in demand for our products."
The province has doubled its exports to Taiwan, from just under $2 million in 2008 to $4 million in 2012.
The province is picking up part of the cost for business delegates going overseas. Ghiz said he does not know how much the trade mission will cost.
