A young woman from Ten Mile House, P.E.I. will be singing the Canadian and American national anthems at two upcoming Blue Jays games.
Jessica Gallant studies musical theatre at Sheridan College in Ontario. Her teacher selected her to sing on Sept. 30.
When the Jays organization heard her, they decided to also book her for the Jays' last home game on Oct. 3.
Gallant said it's a thrill to have the support of the team in Toronto, as well as from her family and friends back home.
"After I sang they said that they were just really excited for me to come in for the closing game and I just can't believe it, I'm still in shock," said Gallant.
"My family, my friends, everybody said that they'll be tuning in. My grandmother said that she'll have to go to Sears to catch it on one of the giant big screens there," she said, laughing.
Gallant gets four free tickets to the games for singing the anthems. She has invited her family to come see her big performance in Toronto.
