A well known face has returned to the court for P.E.I.'s pro-basketball team.

Al Stewart, a point guard from Chicago who is the all-time leader in assists and steals for the National Basketball League of Canada, rejoined the team in time for its game against the St. John Millrats on Sunday.

He said he's thrilled to be back in Charlottetown.

"I was always comfortable here. The fans are great here. The organization is also incredible," he said.

Stewart will lace up his sneakers for his first game back on the Island on Thursday at the Eastlink Centre.

"I'm excited about it," he said of his return to his home court.
