BioVectra's hearing at the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission (IRAC) has been set over until next month.
The company is fighting a developer's plan to build apartment buildings beside one of its chemical factories in Charlottetown.
BioVectra says it's unsafe to have people living so close to its manufacturing facility.
Besides going to IRAC the company has also appealed to the Supreme Court of Prince Edward Island.
Tuesday, IRAC commissioners turned down a request to adjourn their proceedings until the Supreme Court makes a decision..
But the commission did delay the hearing until July 16th, while lawyers can get their hands on more documents relating to the case.
