A 21-year-old Prince Edward Island man has been charged with possession of incendiary materials with the intent to commit arson.
The charge stems from an investigation that dates back to July of last year.
RCMP had responded to complaints of gasoline being stolen from two service stations in the Queen's County area. Police made an arrest shortly after and the man pleaded guilty to a charge of theft.
But the investigation led to further concerns. RCMP say when they located the gasoline it was in an area that made them suspicious of attempted arson.
As a result of that investigation, the man now faces the new charge. He will appear in court to face that charge Feb. 10.
