Charlottetown police have arrested a suspect following an armed robbery at a hotel in the early morning hours Sunday.

Police got the call from Canada's Best Value Inn at 3:39 a.m. An employee of the hotel said a man, brandishing a weapon with his face concealed, entered the motel demanding money.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash from the employee the man ran away.

Charlottetown police followed tracks leading from the hotel to the Confederation Trail, and arrested a man on the trail near Belvedere Ave.

The suspect is due to appear in court Tuesday.
