The Holland College Hurricane blew out the New Brunswick Red Bombers 28-0 to win the Atlantic Football College Championship on Saturday.

It was a relief when the clock finally ran down, says Holland College football coach Mark MacDougall. (CBC)

More than 2,000 people came out to the UPEI field to watch the shut out.

"It's just a terrific feeling when it finally ends," said Hurricane head coach Mark MacDougall.

"It's kind of almost a relief. You know the clock seems to go so slow when your winning and so fast when you're losing, We didn't try to think so much about the big picture, we tried to concentrate on the game so I think it's still sinking in. We were really happy and proud for the kids and everybody in the organization."

This the first time in 51 years that an Island-based team has won an Intercollegiate football title.
