High-profile guests roll up to ceremony in Escalades and luxury vehicles
Toronto Maple Leaf Dion Phaneuf and Hollywood actress Elisha Cuthbert tied the knot in small-town P.E.I. Saturday.
The wedding took place at St. James Catholic Church in Summerfield, P.E.I., under beautiful sunny skies in the afternoon.
Cuthbert, 32, arrived in a black convertible.
High-profile guests rolled up to the ceremony in Escalades and luxury vehicles with hockey stars arriving by bus.
Phaneuf’s parents are from P.E.I. The Maple Leafs captain owns a waterfront home up the road from the church in New London.
Julie Walker, who went to school with Phaneuf’s parents on the Island was outside the church.
"Seems like a laid back, fancy affair. Quite impressed. Even a little bit of Island blood in you never leaves," she said.
The Canadian-born Cuthbert has been dating Phaneuf, 28, since 2008. They got engaged last September.
Cuthbert has appeared in a variety of hit TV shows and movies including 24, Love Actually and Old School.
