HMCS Kingston is docked at the Charlottetown waterfront Sunday and the public is welcome to take a tour of the Canadian warship.

The ship is mostly used for coastal surveillance, but also takes part in naval exercises, search and rescue operations and fisheries patrols.

The ship is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the cruise ship pier.

"Probably the most exciting thing that people will want to take a look at are the guns and to take a look at the bridge and just see how the ships are driven from the bridge, where the captain sits and all the communications equipment that's up there," says Lt. Jim Smith, with the Royal Canadian Navy.
