A joint drug task force in western P.E.I. dismantled a marijuana growing operation Saturday that had more than 450 plants, including 78 inside.
A 41-year-old man was arrested in connection with the operation in Richmond, P.E.I. He is being held in custody on unrelated charges, and will appear in court to face charges for production of marijuana and possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
Police executed a search warrant on the property, seizing 385 outdoor marijuana plants, 78 marijuana plants from inside the home, along with marijuana growing equipment, a scale, cash, and a small amount of dried marijuana.
RCMP are calling this "a significant seizure of marijuana plants that will have a direct impact on the local marijuana trade."
The bust was the work of a joint drug task force comprised of East and West Prince RCMP and Summerside Police.
