A P.E.I. fisherman who went missing Friday and was found in the water early Saturday died by drowning, his autopsy shows.

The RCMP were notified when 51-year-old-man Lorne Noye from East Bideford failed to return home Friday night from fishing on the Percival River. He was fishing quahogs.

Search and rescue dispatched a helicopter and found the man's boat anchored about 400 metres offshore. His body was nearby.

Visitation for Lorne Noye is at Ferguson Tyne Valley funeral chapel Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. His funeral is Tuesday at the Victoria West United Church at 11 am.
