Family loses home in weekend fire
A Murray River family of three lost their home and all their possessions in a fire Saturday night, says the local fire chief.
Murray River Chief Troy Ferguson said no one was home at the time of the fire. The owners returned just before midnight, discovered the fire and called 911.
Ferguson said his firefighters and a handful from Murray Harbour weren't able to save the home.
"The house was fully engulfed when we arrived on scene. The fire's still under investigation; cause is still unknown," he said.
"The family lost all their belongings and everything they own."
Ferguson said the family is staying with relatives nearby. The house was insured.
