A proposal is being put forward for an early review of Olive Crane's leadership of the P.E.I. Progressive Conservative Party.

Under the current rules, voted on by party members last year, a leadership review would not happen until after the next provincial election in 2015.

Party member Jason Lee wants that changed. He sent out an email lobbying members to amend the rules so that Crane's leadership would be reviewed by the end of 2013.

Lee said there is nothing personal in his campaign.

"I've raised money and knocked on doors for Olive Crane during the last election, but this is about building the strongest party we can for the future, no matter who the leader is," he said.

The party is holding its annual general meeting Nov. 3, and that's when Lee plans to present his amendment.
