Dozens of credit charges laid against P.E.I. man
Chris Higgins faces total of 48 charges
RCMP on P.E.I. have laid 32 Criminal Code charges and 16 charges under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act against 47-year-old Chris Higgins of Charlottetown.
The charges include fraud and obtaining credit by false pretence or fraud.
Most of the offences are alleged to have occurred in the Charlottetown area, but some are based in Montague. RCMP say the victims are mainly credit card companies.
The charges cover a period between June 2009 and October 2011.
This is not the first time Higgins has been in trouble for credit violations. In 2011 he was convicted on four charges of illegally using a credit card.
Higgins is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Georgetown Thursday, and again in provincial court in Charlottetown on July 24.
