Downtown Charlottetown New Year's Eve road restrictions

Some downtown Charlottetown streets will be closed for New Year's Eve celebrations.

Some downtown Charlottetown streets will be closed because of this year's special 2014 New Year's Eve celebrations.

PEI is throwing a special New Year's Eve party this year to kick off a year of celebrations to mark the 150th anniversary of the Charlottetown Conference, which led to the formation of Canada.

Richmond Street, between Queen and Church streets, is closed from 9 a.m. Tuesday until noon Wednesday.

Certain roads will close between Queen and Prince streets from 6:15 p.m. until 10 p.m.Tuesday, and traffic could be limited as early as noon. Those streets are Sydney, Dorchester, King and Water.

No parking will be allowed on Great George Street between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m..
