Kings District RCMP were responding to a tip from a local citizen Sunday morning at 5:15. The report said a dark-coloured pickup truck was doing doughnuts at the intersection of Route 17 and the Lower Montague Road.
Police arrived at 5:30 and saw a pickup truck stuck in the ditch, and the driver of a Jeep getting ready to try to tow it out.
The drivers of both vehicles exhibited signs of alcohol impairment, RCMP said in a news release. Both were read a demand to provide breath samples, and police said both had alcohol readings in excess of the legal limit.
The two Lower Montague men have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Georgetown Court on June 26 to enter a plea on the charges.
