The Island’s DiverseCity street festival has moved to Summerside for the first time this year, following stops during the last month in Charlottetown and Montague.

The multicultural festival features international food vendors, art and music.

The P.E.I. Association for Newcomers to Canada, which organizes DiverseCity, says the face of Summerside is changing. The association now has more than 200 clients in the city from 19 different countries.

"Having the DiverseCity festival on P.E.I. is really important in terms of inclusion and celebrating all of the various cultures that make their home here on P.E.I.," says the association’s Yvette Doucette.

"We've become a very diverse province. There are over 90 different countries represented in our population on P.E.I."

The DiverseCity festival runs Saturday from about 3:45 p.m. to 10 p.m. in downtown Summerside.
