Some Charlottetown churches are changing the hours of their services this Sunday to allow their congregations to attend the Remembrance Day ceremony at the cenotaph.

Zion Presbyterian, which is located almost across the street from the cenotaph, is one of those churches holding its service earlier in the morning.

"While we are having a Remembrance Day component in our service with a moment of silence, the Last Post, and so on, we'll be encouraging our congregation to go from here at 10:30 when our service is going to be over to join the observances at the cenotaph downtown or in the other surrounding communities," said senior minister Douglas Rollwage.

Most churches in the downtown area are moving their Sunday service to earlier in the morning. St. Mark's Presbyterian in Sherwood is postponing its service until Sunday evening.
