Charlottetown will host a six-day festival in June that will include several concerts to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the 1864 Charlottetown Conference.

The festival will run from June 10 to 15, the city announced Thursday.

All events will be free, including concerts in Victoria Park that will feature acts such as Paper Lions, Rose Cousins and Catherine MacLellan.

The festival will also include fireworks, a skateboarding competition, a dance, a pancake breakfast, a cultural market and the unveiling of commemorative monuments.

One of the highlights will be Québec Day, which will recognize the place in Canadian history that Charlottetown and Québec City played in hosting the Charlottetown and Québec conferences.
