Timothy's World Coffee in Charlottetown can now sell alcohol along with its espresso.

The company said it's trying out a new bistro style restaurant.

Timothy's has a temporary dining room licence, which means patrons have to buy food to order an alcoholic drink.

It’s serving various Atlantic Canadian beer and local wine.

PEI Liquor Control Commission will make that licence permanent in a month.

Starbucks has been serving alcohol for three years in some U.S. states.
