Officials with P.E.I. 2014 are looking for about 100 volunteers to help with the Celebration Zone in Charlottetown's Confederation Landing Park this summer on the Charlottetown waterfront.
The Celebration Zone is a free, 70-day festival featuring entertainment and activities for people of all ages as part of P.E.I. 2014 celebrations, marking the 150th anniversary of the Charlottetown conference.
Penny Walsh McGuire is the executive director of P.E.I. 2014.
She said there are a number of activities which require volunteers including the kids pavilion and Canada pavilion. Scanners for some of the big concerts and information greeters are also needed.
"Just general support on site,” she said. “It's really just an opportunity for islanders to be a part of this major celebration.”
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and complete a criminal background check.
The Celebration Zone opens July 1.
