Boy dies in South Shore rollover
Seat belts not worn in crash
A 15-year-old boy from Argyle Shore, on the South Shore of P.E.I., died in a single-vehicle accident on Route 19 near Charlottetown late Sunday afternoon.
The car rolled over shortly after 5 p.m. near Canoe Cove. The two occupants were both ejected.
The 15-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at hospital. The driver, an 18-year-old from the North Rustico area, suffered non-life threatening injuries, was treated in hospital, and released.
RCMP believe excessive speed was a contributing factor in the accident. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.
An RCMP collision analyst is investigating the accident.
