A P.E.I. woman is proving that you can teach old dogs new tricks.

Tonji Steward has taught her two beagles, one of which is blind, to paint as a hobby.

Stewart rescued the dogs while living in Newfoundland. The professional dog trainer spent hours teaching the animals to put their paws on the canvas.

8-year-old Tuig learned to paint with a yummy incentive. He was rewarded with treats as he put his paw down flat.

"Anyone can teach their dog to paint and I think when people do, you're really proud of this creative process and what they've created," said Stewart.

Stewart sells the paintings and donates the money to help other beagles. She hopes to teach more dogs to paint in the future.
